Chuck Atkins received his BS in Computer Science from Oklahoma State University in 2006. In addition to computer science his interests led him to pursue additional studies in math and applied physics. While at Oklahoma State, Chuck was involved in various research groups including the Quantum Optics Research Group, where he developed numerical models and computer simulations, and the Speech and Audio Communications Lab, where he worked with a team to develop secure communication software for the US Government.

After several summers as an intern for Intel, Chuck graduated and went on to work as a Senior Systems Analyst for Hutchinson Technology Inc. (HTI) in the Advanced Vision Development group. While at HTI, he was one of the three primary software developers on a high resolution multi-camera, multi-node visual inspection system. His contributions were primarily in the area of scalable system architecture and low-level performance optimization.

Chuck joined Kitware in September 2008 where he is currently involved as an R&D Engineer for the Computer Vision team.
