Philippe Pébay is the Director of Visualization and HPC of Kitware SAS, the European subsidiary of the Kitware group.

P. Pébay is currently one of the most active developers of VTK, an open-source, freely available software system for 3D computer graphics, image processing, visualization, and data analysis. He is in particular the main architect of the statistical analysis module of VTK and ParaView.

P. Pébay received a B.S. in Mathematics (1991), a B.S. in Mathematical Engineering (1991) and a M.S in Computer Science (1992) from the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, and a PhD in Applied Mathematics (2000) from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris and was also received at the Agrégation in Mathematics in 1994. He has worked on a variety of projects in the fields of applied mathematics, scientific computing, visualization, data analysis, and parallel ff.

Prior to joining Kitware, P. Pébay has been a Professeur Agrégé at the National Institute for Applied Sciences (INSA) in Lyon, a Visiting Research Scholar at Princeton University, and a Principal Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories.
