VolView 1.3 Released

Kitware announced today the release of VolView 1.3, a powerful volume rendering system that enables researchers to visualize data from a variety of imaging modalities including CT, MRI, and confocal microscopy. VolView is designed for ease of use, performance, and flexibility at a modest entry price.

New features available in VolView 1.3 include:

• More data formats including jpeg, png, GE Signa
• Integrated iso-contours in 2D and 3D
• Surface area and volume measurements
• Support for the VolumePro 1000
• Volume filtering including median, threshold, and smoothing
• Save volumes and surfaces
• Application settings saved across sessions
• Improved lightbox with more layout options
• Perspective rendering
