Brad Davis received a B.A. in computer science from Carleton College
in 2001, and a M.S in computer science from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005. He is currently a part-time
Ph.D. student at UNC and a member of the Medical Image Display and
Analysis research Group (MIDAG). His research interests include
medical image registration and atlas construction, atlas based
segmentation, tracking organ motion for adaptive radiation therapy,
and statistics of shape. Brad joined Kitware in June, 2006, as a
Research and Development Engineer.
At UNC, Brad published more than 15 peer-reviewed research papers and
abstracts, taught Introduction to Scientific Programming, developed
software libraries and tools for medical image analysis, and served as
president of the Computer Science Student Association.
In 2001 and 2002, Brad worked as a research assistant for the
Department of Radiation Oncology at St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. There he developed software tools for
detecting treatment set-up errors and measuring portal image
distortion.
