Yumin received his MS degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2001. Since then, he worked for four years at AutoQuant Imaging Inc, a software company specialized in 2D/3D deconvolution and analysis for life science microscope images, as a key software engineer. He is also one of the key developers for a patented algorithm used in Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) technique. Yumin joined Kitware in June 2006 as R&D engineer.
