Data is managed through Midas' web-based application, enabling use between multiple remote users and allowing for terabytes of data to be integrated into the work of individual research projects or large-scale commercial efforts. From the web, users have the ability to run sets of extensible image processing algorithms to selected datasets and add new algorithms to the system for dissemination of the work to collaborators.

The Midas data management system easily integrates with other, open-source offerings from Kitware, including the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) and the Insight Tookit (ITK) for image analysis; ParaView and OverView for information visualization; and BatchMake for large-scale data processing and statistical analysis. Unification of these tools allows for easy visualization and interaction with the data through the web-browser application.
