Kitware is developing advanced, open-source applications for text analysis, which have broad applicability based on their robust capabilities. We are building software that extracts relevant words from free-form texts such as places, dates, names, topic models and entities. To make this information relevant, an interactive, corresponding visualization is created, for example, showing geospatial views that plot the locations mentioned in the document. By building the software as a web application, the tool will be readily available for use and expansion.
