Kitware is working on advanced CT calibration technology to enhance the use of CT scans in medical imaging. We are developing a CT pocket phantom to capture and utilize fundamental CT acquisition properties for each CT scan. The small, rugged pocket phantoms can be placed anywhere in the CT field of view and are automatically detected and measured through advanced software.

We have coupled this with a MIDAS module that can automatically create CT Quality Assurance reports and alerts, enabling researchers and radiologists to monitor their results. While not yet approved for clinical use, this technology is on the forefront of medical imaging and has great potential in transforming the way we acquire, use and analyze CT scans.
