With energy and natural resource issues becoming paramount to the health of the world's economy, methods for processing complex geospatial data are of vital importance. Many of Kitware's software systems have been used by oil and gas, and natural resource firms, to model, visualize and explore complex, large datasets. These datasets range from volumetric, or seismic models, of underground structures, to surface, well, horizon and fault models. We have worked with several large companies to integrate our tools as proprietary additions to in-house analytical packages. Kitware also works with US Government agencies including the Army Corps of Engineers to develop custom applications, or simply to assist our customers in the use of our open-source visualization systems.
