Software Process

Kitware works with a variety of customers and collaborators. We offer several different working relationships, whether you want to team with us on a government proposal; collaborate on a commercial project; hire us to do custom technology integration and work alongside us during the development process; or simply provide a statement of work and let us handle the rest.

For organizations and individuals interested in working with our software process team, we can accommodate various types of projects and contracts. We have experience collaborating with large-scale development communities to design and integrate software process tools, such as the development of CMake for the ITK community. CMake is now supported by the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the National Alliance for Medical Image Computing (NA-MIC), and Sandia National Laboratories. We are also happy to work with small businesses to put in place software process solutions that will be scalable and enable the company to grow into its full potential. We regularly team with organizations on government grants, lending our expertise to significant software projects.

In addition, we can work with your company or research group on the integration of high-quality software process, which can then be used in further software development, resulting in either free, open-source software or proprietary, commercial products. We offer a variety of contract options, from basic support to time and materials, or cost plus fixed fee, and we are happy to work with you to meet your specific needs.
