Doruk joined Kitware in May 2016 as a research and development engineer. He received a B.Eng in Hydrogeological Engineering from Hacettepe University at Turkey in 2012. Then he completed an M.S. from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) in 2015. His department was Earth and atmospheric sciences, but he mostly focused on programming. During his pursuit of his master’s degree, he worked on two Google funded projects and one National Aeronautics and Space Administration funded project, which were related to water resources management. After he obtained his degree from UNL, he worked there as a geospatial developer until April 2016.
