At this year’s AUVSI XPONENTIAL conference, Kitware Assistant Director of Computer Vision Keith Fieldhouse will provide a technical presentation, “Linking Unmanned Systems, Visible and IR Video, Computer Vision, and Humans Together for Real-Time, Squad-Level, Battlefield Situational Awareness.” The presentation will take place May 8, 2017, from 4:30 to 5 pm CDT in room C140 of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas.

Intelligent integration of platforms, sensors, and software introduces challenges but also permits the exploitation of techniques to enable situational awareness for humans and unmanned systems in dynamic environments. Kitware uses computer vision and deep learning to improve and expand upon existing and future capabilities and techniques for soldiers on the ground. The work described in the presentation seeks to fuse and strategically use the information that these capabilities garner to realize new applications to benefit international government and commercial domains.
