The Open Source Festival is hosted by the University at Albany Student Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology. The event will draw members of academia, industry, and government who share a passion for open source.

The festival is designed to be highly interactive. Attendees will participate in demonstrations, workshops, and tutorials centered on the theme ‘Outreach in the Open Source Community.’ Chris Kotfila and Dan LaManna will present the workshop ‘Email Self-Defense: getting started with GPG and email encryption.’

Attendees will also have the opportunity to gain job application experience. At the Kitware table, Katie Montembeault, human resources generalist, will conduct mock interviews. For a list of current employment and internship opportunities, and to learn about working at Kitware, please visit the jobs website.

This is the sixth year the festival will take place. For a glimpse into the event, read about past participation.
