Just before SPIE kicks-off, there will be an IGSTK User Group Meeting on Saturday, February 4. The event will be held at the Days Inn at 542 Hotel Circle South in San Diego. We welcome collaborators and users to join us and give talks about their research projects and experiences. If you are interested in giving a talk at this meeting, please contact Patrick Cheng (pcheng@cnmc.org). Dr. Andinet Enquobahrie of Kitware will be attending.
On Sunday, Februrary 5, Kitware will be presenting the paper ‘Neurosurgery simulation using nonlinear finite element modeling and haptic interaction’ during the oral presentation session of the Image-Guided Procedures, Robotic Interventions, and Modeling conference.
On Monday, February 6, Kitware will be presenting the paper, Application of unscented Kalman filter for robust pose estimation in image-guided surgery,’ during the poster session of the Image-Guided Procedures, Robotic Interventions, and Modeling conference.
On Tuesday, February 7 at 5:00 Dr. Stephen Aylward is co-chairing a Live Demonstration Workshop with Heang-Ping Chan from the University of Michigan Health System. The workshop will feature interactive demonstrations that are complimentary to the oral and poster presentations of SPIE Medical Imaging. During this event, authors of SPIE MI papers will be hosting samples, systems, and software demonstrations that depict the implementation, operation, and utility of their research.
The workshop will start with a short overview of the participating teams and systems, after which the audience is invited to interact with the researchers as they discuss and demonstrate their systems. This is a unique opportunity to to see and experience the systems presented at SPIE Medical Imaging and to discuss their design and use with developers.
On Wednesday, February 8 at 8:00 a.m., Dr. Aylward will be chairing a session of the Computer-Aided Diagnosis conference focused on Vascular applications.
