In 2015, the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) community voted in Kitware to collaborate with regional and national organizations on technology related to earth science. This technology pertains to topics such as remote sensing, environmental science, climate science, and geographic information systems. The winter meeting marks the first time that a member of Kitware serves as an organizer for an ESIP session. Aashish Chaudhary is the session organizer for ‘Tools and Technologies for Big Data in Earth Science.’ The session will take place on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm EST. Chaudhary will present at the session along with Chris Kotfila, and Jonathan Beezley will attend as a participant.
