Join Kitware CEO Lisa Avila, and other members of the Kitware team, November 7-9 at the world’s largest conference for women engineers – WE19!

Stop by the Kitware booth (#214) to meet our team and find out what life at Kitware is all about.

Plus, you won’t want to miss Lisa’s presentation, ‘The Open Business Model: Running an IP-Free Business,’ happening Saturday, November 9 at 10:40 a.m. Here are some additional details:

You’ve founded a company based on your passion for innovation and your desire to make an impact. It is great fun developing the new technology, but then you have to file patents, protect your IP, worry about competitors, focus on marketing, and drive sales. Instead, you can choose to run an IP-free organization by being in the business of innovating new technology instead of selling your existing technology. While this may not lead to a lucrative IPO or a sweet acquisition deal, it does help with recruiting and employee engagement, it reduces your need for a sales force and it generally results in a more personally rewarding experience. With an IP-free business, you are free to collaborate with anyone and publish your work, which significantly increases your impact and ultimately helps your bottom line.

Attendees at the show:

Lisa Avila, CEO

Rachel Clipp, technical leader

Bea Paniagua, technical leader

Heather James, manager, innovative applications

John Westbrook, human resources generalist
