Jacob DeRosa

Jacob DeRosa is an R&D engineer located in Clifton Park, New York. He is currently enrolled in Kitware’s Open Source Software Technology Program (OSTP), allowing him to work full-time while earning his master’s degree. As a participant in the OSTP, Jacob is gaining valuable experience while learning to develop innovative open source software in the areas of computer vision, scientific computing, medical computing, data and analytics, and software solutions.

Before joining the OSTP program, Jacob was an intern on Kitware’s Computer Vision Team. He contributed to the IARPA SMART and Danesfield projects which focus on open source framework for the 3D semantic reconstruction of buildings from satellite imagery.

Jacob received his bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in computer systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He is currently working towards his master’s degree from Clarkson University.
