Project Logistics Lead
Katie Osterdahl is a Project Logistics Lead in the Computer Vision Team at Kitware, where she is responsible for data labeling and annotation efforts across all Vision projects. She supervises a permanent staff of 5-10 professional annotators that perform data labeling for a wide range of projects spanning the full spectrum of imagery and video, from satellite MSI and aerial video to ground-based surveillance video and even underwater imagery for marine wildlife monitoring. On the IARPA Deep Intermodal Video Analytics (DIVA) program, Katie has been responsible for orchestrating major video data collections involving one hundred actors, dozens of cameras and many days of collection. This work can be seen as part of the Multiview Extended Video with Activities (MEVA) dataset. She also leads the effort for annotating the resulting data for dozens of activity types using internal annotators and external annotation companies, including design of the annotation process to optimize cost while maintaining annotation quality.
Prior to her current role, Katie was Kitware’s Communications Specialist (2010-2013) and Communications Lead (2013-2016), where she managed complex, multi-million dollar proposals for federal funding involving multiple subcontractors, large amounts of materials, and various technological solutions and capabilities. She managed logistics for Kitware’s conference exhibitions, including CVPR and IEEE Supercomputing. She led all efforts in support of exhibit booths, including equipment selection and sourcing, material and equipment transportation, vendor sourcing, and personnel scheduling. Prior to joining Kitware, she was a global marketing and communications assistant for the International Transport Intermediaries Management Company in London. Katie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from Syracuse University in 2008.
