Markus Ferrell is an R&D engineer on Kitware’s Software Process Team located in Clifton Park, New York. He helps integrate Kitware’s open source software into commercial applications by extending our open source toolkits to meet customer needs.

Prior to joining Kitware, Markus was a technical intern at Salient CRGT, where he developed a survey app using Microsoft Powerapps aimed to help supervisors assess proposal readiness. He was also an Air and Missile Defense Sector Intern where he co-developed radar cross section software in C++ to replace expensive licensed software. During this internship, he also created a regression test pipeline using Bamboo and Slurm Rest API for a project in a secure environment.

Markus received his bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in statistics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
