Ryan Krattiger

Ryan Krattiger is a senior R&D engineer who works remotely on Kitware’s Scientific Computing Team. He contributes to our scientific visualization efforts through developing and improving Kitware’s visualization software solutions, including the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) and ParaView.

Prior to joining Kitware, Ryan was a high-performance computing (HPC) engineer at Convergent Science. He designed application programming interfaces (API) and abstractions around core software components targeted for use by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) engineers. He also designed and implemented parallel geometry and meshing tools used in the CONVERGE CFD solver. Ryan was involved in many other software-related projects aimed at modernizing legacy toolchains and improving software scalability.

One of Ryan’s biggest contributions during his time at Convergent Science was redesigning the User Defined Function (UDF) interface from scratch. This created a more dynamic interface for users making it easier to extend the existing software package. He also designed a stable API framework for interfacing with the solver to give users a stable development environment.

Ryan received his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
