Sebastian Whiting is a cybersecurity analyst on our System Administration Team located in Clifton Park, New York. His role includes defining Kitware’s security requirements, implementing security applications, and assisting with security certifications. He also is responsible for operating security utilities.
Sebastian performs audits of our firewall logs, web server logs, and more. He also audits our security compliance and implements corrective and preventative actions based on his findings.
Prior to joining Kitware, Sebastian spent 10 years in the United States Navy. His most recent position was a nuclear chemistry and radiological controls instructor. He was responsible for training new operators in reactor plant operations. Before that, he served on the USS Olympia (SSN-717), a nuclear submarine, as a nuclear chemistry and radiological controls supervisor. He oversaw those aspects of reactor plant operations.
Sebastian is currently attending DePaul University for a master’s degree in cybersecurity. He received his bachelor’s degree in nuclear energy engineering technology from Thomas Edison State University.
