Samantha Schmitt

Samantha Schmitt is a marketing communications principal at Kitware and is located in Clifton Park, New York. She is responsible for Kitware’s external marketing and communications efforts, including producing content for Kitware’s blog, websites, and social media accounts, managing Kitware’s conferences throughout the year, and helping to develop marketing strategies. She also puts together plans and processes to help the Marketing Team run efficiently and collaborate easily with the other administrative and technical teams.

Samantha has spearheaded several key projects during her time at Kitware. She was instrumental in Kitware’s corporate website redesign, acting as project manager and content creator. Since then she has led multiple website redesign projects for Kitware’s open source platforms, including ParaView and CMake. Samantha has also been instrumental in leading Kitware’s conference presence, coordinating booth setups, staff, and marketing materials needed to make them successful, and updating existing processes so everything runs more efficiently.

In addition to her marketing efforts, Samantha is also involved in Kitware’s interview process and has served as a mentor to new employees. Samantha is also a member of Kitware’s Open Source Committee.

Prior to joining Kitware, Samantha was a multimedia project manager at CaptialCare Medical Group, which merged with Community Care Physicians. Starting as a marketing intern while she was still in high school, Samantha spent the first eight years of her career at CaptialCare and supported her team through the merger. She stayed for an additional three years after the merger before deciding to take on new challenges in the tech industry.

Samantha received her bachelor’s degree in Communications, with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising, from The College of Saint Rose in 2014.
