ActiViz release: Modern .NET support and enhanced visualization
Kitware is pleased to announce the release of ActiViz 9.5.2025.1212, the latest version of Kitware’s .NET/C# wrapper for the Visualization Toolkit (VTK). This release delivers important updates focusing on three key areas: modernization of the platform, expanded visualization flexibility, and improved native rendering capabilities.
Upgrade to .NET 10

ActiViz 9.5 now officially supports .NET 10, enabling developers to leverage the latest language features, performance optimizations, and runtime enhancements. This upgrade ensures that ActiViz remains a first-class choice for modern application development and integrates seamlessly with the future of the .NET ecosystem.
Custom color mapping for probing volumes
Building on work introduced in ActiViz 9.4 to add support for curved planar reformation, ActiViz 9.5 allows users to provide custom lookup tables (LUTs) to the surface probe volume mapper. Developers can now fully control how intensity is mapped to color and opacity values when probing volumes with a surface.
This enhancement unlocks new visualization workflows, such as applying domain-specific color scales or highlighting specific regions and segments within overlays
The new LUT functionality offers finer visual control, making the vtkOpenGLSurfaceProbeVolumeMapper more adaptable for medical imaging, industrial inspection, and scientific visualization applications.
Multiple native render windows in WPF
ActiViz 9.3 introduced native rendering control for WPF, providing a fast, GPU-accelerated rendering path without relying on WinForms interoperability. With ActiViz 9.5, this capability has been significantly expanded; it is now possible to host multiple native render windows within a single WPF application.
This greatly enhances architectural flexibility for advanced applications, allowing users to build complex layouts involving multi-view visualization panels.
In addition, this new version of the WPF native control includes extended support for Intel graphics hardware, ensuring broader compatibility and more stable rendering performance across a wider range of devices.
