Kitware Integrates NVIDIA Clara Open Models to Deliver Next-Generation Clinical AI Workflows
At Kitware, we believe the future of healthcare will be shaped by how seamlessly technology integrates into the daily work of clinicians and researchers. That’s why we are excited to demonstrate how NVIDIA Clara open source AI models can be deployed within our open source medical image visualization and analysis platform, VolView.
As a web-based radiology viewer, VolView gives clinicians the flexibility to run high-quality, interactive cinematic volume renderings on almost any platform. By embedding Clara for Medical AI models directly into VolView, we are showcasing how advanced AI can move beyond research environments and into clinical-style workflows.

At GTC DC 2025, we will demonstrate how the:
- Reason model enables interactive, context-aware exploration of imaging studies.
- Segment model segments organs and identifies key anatomical structures.
- Generate model creates synthetic images to support research and training.
This proof-of-concept illustrates what’s possible when cutting-edge AI is integrated into open platforms like VolView. It offers a glimpse into a future where clinicians and researchers can work more seamlessly with medical imaging, driving innovation and improving patient outcomes.
We look forward to sharing this demonstration at GTC DC 2025 and continuing our work with NVIDIA and the broader community to advance clinical AI through open platforms and collaboration.
Together, we’re building an ecosystem where medical AI innovation thrives, benefiting researchers, clinicians, and patients worldwide. Get started with VolView and Clara Open Models at https://github.com/KitwareMedical/volview-gtc2025-demo.
After GTC DC concludes, Kitware will be hosting a webinar to discuss the demonstration and answer questions. Please join us on November 4th, 2025 at 12pm ET. You can register for free here.
