Kitware Welcomes Matt Montaño as Director of Software and Data Solutions
New leadership appointment underscores Kitware’s commitment to driving growth and innovation in custom software and data solutions.
Clifton Park, N.Y. (October 9, 2025) – Kitware is pleased to announce that Matt Montaño has joined the company as Director of Software and Data Solutions. In this role, Montaño will leverage his extensive business development and leadership experience to expand Kitware’s software and data engineering services for commercial, federal, and academic customers.
Kitware recently combined its software development and data engineering expertise into a single team to drive innovation and efficiency. Montaño was selected to lead this transition and future growth, positioning Kitware to meet increasing demand for custom software solutions that solve complex technical challenges.
Montaño brings extensive experience leading large-scale technology modernization and open source innovation. As Chief Information Officer for the National Park Service, he oversaw the agency’s largest technology transformation. He also served as Director of IT Modernization at the U.S. General Services Administration, where he expanded the Federal Centers of Excellence portfolio and secured new agency modernization initiatives. In addition, he founded and grew a health tech startup and built NATO’s first forward-deployed cloud platform.
