Bobby Martino

R&D Engineer

Bobby Martino is an R&D engineer on Kitware’s Computer Vision Team located in Clifton Park, New York. As a machine learning engineer, he helps create cutting-edge algorithms and software for automated image and video analysis.

Prior to working at Kitware, Bobby spent 3 years as a research scientist at Assured Information Security. He worked in the Advanced Research Concepts group where he designed and implemented novel machine learning models and algorithms to a variety of problems in the cyber domain.

Bobby received both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2018 and 2017, respectively.

Get to Know Bobby

What made you want to become a Kitwarean? Growing up in the Capital Region I was thrilled to join such a talented and diverse team working on exciting problems right in my own backyard! The company’s track record of open source technologies, along with everyone I met throughout the interview process, made the decision to join Kitware very easy.

What do you love most about what you do? The work is best at the intersection of creativity and craftsmanship, and coming up with novel solutions to challenging problems and implementing them well is what makes working in this line of work so fulfilling.

Share something interesting about yourself that is not on your resume. I enjoy chess, cooking, disc golf, softball, and have recently gotten into rock climbing.
